The Passion of the Christ (2004)
The Passion Of The Christ, " The ultimate hero story for all mankind, Jesus suffered, died and still won" - Mel Gibson's words for the block buster film 'The Passion of the Christ', inspired by the Holy Spirit, directed Mel Gibson. The film covers the last 12 hours of Jesus giving his life for the sins of the world. Staring Jim Caviezel as Jesus, Maia Morgenstern as the mother of Jesus and Monica Bellucci as Mary Magdalene. The film is extremely controversial because it portrays the heart of the Bible and why Jesus died to redeem the sins of mankind, and proclaims Him as the Savior of the world. In the beginning of the movie the verse of Isaiah 53: 4-6 "Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Mel Gibson portrays the reason and the need of the cross. How Jesus came to give up his life so that we might know the father completely without sin or blemish. Those that say the movie is anti-Semitic are persecuting the movie just like Jesus was persecuted. If this movie wasn't "controversial," then I would wonder if there truly was something wrong with the film. Of course this film is going to be "controversial" like Jim Caviezel says himself, "Jesus was Controversial." The Passion of the Christ is by far the best movie ever made. | | MPAARating: R For sequences of graphic violence Parents: Violence can be disturbing for some children (under 13).
