Staring James Stewart as Jefferson Smith, a young innocent enthusiast for America and its foundation, who has just arrived in Washington D.C. as a newly elected senator.
Having not much experience for the job but a history of a young Montana scout leader and a passion and patriotism which carries him for a roller coaster ride in Politics.
Mr. Smith Goes
to Washington
(Amazon)
Discovering that there is a political agenda being pushed by a corrupt and rich man who is controlling members of the Senate, Jefferson Smith discovers the real reason for being elected as senator, not for the good of our country but to fill a seat and make a vote for something he doesn't understand.
Now being black mailed for his seat in the senate, Mr Smith chooses to do what's right and exposes the corruption in Washington.
Helped by his worldly wise secretary (Jean Arthur) and of course his love for America and our founding fathers.
Mr Smith Goes to Washington is a true American who stands up against corruption, and brings true Patriotism in a way that is encouraging and uplifting.
